The school is based on the positive aspects of our previous incarnation as Far Horizons Montessori School, which was based at our current location from 1970 until 2025. Two of our teachers have taught at the school for over 10 years and have ensured a smooth transition from our past to our new future as a teacher-led cooperative.

South Hills Montessori was created in 2025 when passionate parents and experienced teachers came together with one purpose: give children the exceptional Montessori education they deserve in a community where every family matters.

How We Came Together

In summer 2025, families, teachers, and building owners united to ensure 70 students could continue their education. Within weeks, a teacher-owned cooperative was formed, classrooms were prepared, and South Hills Montessori opened its doors.
